Sundaze Samet
Sundaze Samet Hostel began on the 1st May 2019 by Long term partners (15yrs and counting!) Golf, Hollie and their cute little dog Bamboo. The Hostel was formally known as, and owned by Olly, he decided to sell the hostel and move to Cambodia with his young family (make sure to Check out Pomme Siem Riep if you're going that way)
With a life time of experience in the area and Hollie, an experienced backpacker taking over the hostel, was a natural step forwards from a corporate life in the city, and a coming home moment.... a dream come true. In reality the hard work had only just began! Owning and running a Hostel is truly a labour of love.
"Our aim is to create a home away from home for all our guests, somewhere you can feel comfortable, to be yourself, relax and recharge. We want to share our passion for the island, our home and the vibrant, welcoming, lovable community that lives here."

Golf
Golf grew up on Samet Island from the age of 12 and considers it his home. He left the island after completing university and worked in finance in Rayong city for 10yrs! He was finally able to return home and start the business Sundaze Samet Hostel. He loves fishing and will happily share his catches with the guests... have you ever tried 100% fresh straight from the ocean Sashimi?
As a true Koh Samet Local Golf has a wealth of knowledge on the area and he also loves to talk, so if you have a question please don't hesitate to ask. If you have read the Sundaze Samet reviews (you should!) you will understand that Golf is a vital part of Sundaze and the island community. Hollie
Hollie is originally from Dorset on the south Coast of England, she left England on her 21st Birthday with a one way ticket to Amsterdam! After backpacking her way to Australia (without flying) Hollie lived and worked in Australia for a year while studying to become an ESL teacher. When the visa ran out she returned to Asia to continue travelling and finally began working here in Thailand. While working she fell in love with the Waldorf Steiner Education system and become a fully qualified Waldorf early childhood Teacher. She still works at her school in Rayong city during the week!
Hollie is an Artist who loves to draw and paint, you can see this influence throughout the hostel and its décor! She also loves to take photos (all the pics on this website are taken by her on her iPhone!) She is also a Life long vegetarian who knows all the best spots on the island and how to navigate a vegetarian diet in Thailand

Bamboo
Bamboo (a toy poodle) is almost 10yrs old, she is super cute and super friendly, she loves everyone and will happily pose for photos, she enjoys all the cuddles she can get, especially a good belly rub!
She works at the hostel as a security guard to keep the big dogs and the riff raff out, she will also give your bag a good sniff on arrival.... incase of treats!
(Toy poodles are hypoallergenic and will not affect people who suffer allergic reactions to cats and dogs, her fur does not shed.)
